Helena Sousa Aguiar brings a robust blend of legal expertise and practical experience to her role as Global Data Protection Office Manager at Syngenta Group, based in Basel, Switzerland. With over 5 years at Syngenta and a strong legal background as a licensed lawyer with the Portuguese Bar Association, she is she is well positioned to navigate complex, cross-border privacy and regulatory challenges and adept at navigating the multifaceted challenges of data protection, AI and compliance across the Globe.

Helena holds a Law degree from the University of Lisbon and certifications in privacy and data management (CIPP-E, CIPM) from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). She currently leads the diaspora chapter of Portuguese Women in AI Governance at WiAIG (Women in AI Governance) and more recently is leading the Swiss Legal Tech Association Chapter for Luzern.
