CAS Legal Tech HWZ – February 2024 

 
The «CAS Legal Tech» course, offered by the University of Applied Sciences in Business Administration Zurich (HWZ), in collaboration with the Swiss LegalTech Association (SLTA), is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding regarding the digital transformation of the legal industry. The program spans 18 course days and covers emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, deep learning, large language models, blockchain, and smart contracts. The CAS Legal Tech is led by 25 legal tech experts who will explore the potential opportunities that arise from the digital transformation of the legal industry. Participants will explore topics such as platform economy, Web3, Metaverse, legal chatbots, Justitia 4.0, online dispute resolution (ODR), digital ethics, agile project management, digital legal marketing, and legal design thinking in depth, moving beyond mere buzzwords.  

 
Objectives and perspectives. 

 
Participants will: 

  • be able to competently accompany the digital change processes in their environment. 

  • recognize the significance of digitalization as a paradigm shift in customer behavior and derive the new requirements for their company or law firm. 

  • understand how modern technologies can change business models within the legal industry. 

  • be able to take advantage of the many opportunities offered by digitalization and optimize their own business models. 

  • learn how digital data leads to new legal products and services. 

  • be able to develop services tailored to customer needs. 

  • understand the new ecosystem and the collaboration between traditional players in the legal industry and new legal tech companies.
